Overview and Goals

RFRL App, by What She Said, provides a unique opportunity for women-owned businesses to support eachother in a referral based social community! Built for women to support their people. Think Yelp meets group chat, where every reccomendation is rooted in trust. RFRL helps you discover who to support, local pros, service providers, and businesses that come high recommended by people you actually trust. A platform that does it all: you can refer who you love and find what you need in one, centralized location. RFRL strives to connect like-minded consumers and businesses through curation while building lasting relationships and reward everyone on the platform for their amazing referrals.

The goals of RFRL's new app are to:

✓ Build brand awareness

✓ Build a networking community based on trust

✓ Curate unique experience for each user

✓ Support women-owned businesses

Goal - Build Brand Awareness

One unique trait of RFRL is the bold and sassy branding. They are creating, in their words, they are "A positive social platform that circles around giving really bomb a** referrals".

Results - I brought their brand flare to the app world and spiced up networking circles with their catchy copywriting and bold colors. Photos from branded photoshoot are strategically placed in the onboarding series of screens and branded, hand drawn icons are found throughout the app to drive home the organic, real-life vibe. "Hooray babe!"

Goal - Build a Trustworthy Networking Community

RFRL's pitch is that it's free, it's human, it's built by and for our people. They offer a platform to build trusted recommendations by market category, keyword, or vibe. Users are invited to "shout-out" their personal favorites with reviews and photos.

Results - I designed a footer navigation system to highlight a shout-out button so users can easily use the feature to promote a business on the go, out in the world! Specific instagram reels are pulled into the app to feature business owners promoting their services and products.

Goal - Curate Unique Experience for Each User

RFRL wanted to offer a tailored experience to each user that joins the platform. Their goal is for users to be seen and build true connections in an organic space where empathy and trust rule the day.

Results - I designed an onboarding experience where users are asked questions to discover areas of interest and then are given curated lists of businesses based on their answers. Users are also encouraged to build and share their own 'lists' where they can collect their own favorites.

Goal - Support Women-Owned Businesses

To support the app launch, RFRL is promoting a digital loyalty card filled with businesses that offer special discounts to the RFRL community. The goal is to build a select collection of businessess to feature on the app and create a marketing campaign filled with social media visibility, boost excitement at events, and boost conversions.

Results - I designed a perk ads to display the special discounts, a loyalty card interface with a redeemable code feature for customers to redeem perks online and in persion and business metrics that track and show real data on the ROI of the perk program.
